There are many US military bases in South Korea. There are many people in South Korea who are very unhappy about these bases. Francis Daehoon Lee is touring the UK on behalf of the People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy, a South Korean NGO.

You are welcome to meet him at Menwith Hill Main Gates on Saturday 18th May 2019 at 11am.

A meeting to review the campaign and clarify how it can go forward effectively. All interested in developing an effective campaign to press for accountability of US military and surveillance activity at Menwith Hill are welcome.

The meeting will start with a shared lunch.

Arranged jointly with Yorkshire CND. Peaceful demonstration at the Main Gates of Menwith Hill drawing attention to the urgent need to return space to peace. Speakers, food and music. All are welcome to participate, sharing and learning about the difficult and complex consequences of militarising space.

Concern is being expressed in South Korea about the deployment of the US THAAD System. A group of South Koreans hope to attend the regular Tuesday evening demonstration at Menwith Hill on Tuesday 2nd May 2017. There is a shared interest in the lack of accountability of the US military in their deployments in countries which are meant to be independent of the USA.

All are welcome to come and meet with the South Koreans and hear what they have to say.

Tuesday evening peace witness and protest has been moved to the Nessfield Gate because of construction work at the Main Gates.

Please observe Covid-19 precautions with social distancing and use hand sanitiser when handling banners, flags or posers. Bring a mask with you in case it becomes appropriate to wear one.
